Buying Guide

How to choose
the right chain block

Three things decide the right chain pulley block: load rating, lift height and duty cycle. Run through the points below or share your load details and we will size the hoist for you.

What load are you lifting?

Pick a capacity at least 20 percent above your heaviest planned load. Our standard range covers 0.5T to 20T. For heavier or unusual shapes, call before you order.

How high does it need to lift?

Standard lift heights are 3m, 6m and 9m. Custom heights are available on request. Measure from hook to floor at maximum lift, not beam height alone.

Manual or powered hoist?

Chain pulley blocks suit occasional lifts. If you lift through the day, an electric chain hoist is usually the better choice. We stock both and can advise on duty cycle.

Industries

Where chain blocks
are used

Manual hoists are standard across Indian industry because they work without power and move easily between bays.

Steel and rolling mills

Coil handling, slab moves and mill-bay maintenance lifts.

Automotive and OEM suppliers

Press-shop dies, fixture changes and assembly-line installs.

Foundries and heavy fabrication

Mould transfer, ladle support and weld-bay rigging.

Cement and bulk materials

Plant turnarounds, gearbox swaps and conveyor lifts.

Construction and infrastructure

Precast positioning, structural steel and formwork.

Ports, logistics and warehousing

Cargo handling, racking work and equipment moves.

Machine tool and capital equipment

OEM installs, spindle lifts and machine alignment.

General engineering workshops

Daily lifting around lathes, benches and milling cells.

Applications

Typical
lifting jobs

From press shops to construction sites, chain pulley blocks handle the lifts that do not justify a permanent crane but still need controlled movement.

Machine installation and alignment

Setting and shifting equipment during commissioning and relocations.

Mould and die handling

Press shops and tool rooms moving mould halves, dies and fixtures.

Maintenance and turnaround lifting

Gearbox, motor and bearing changes during shutdowns and routine service.

Press shop and assembly line moves

Repositioning fixtures, jigs and small machines while balancing the line.

Structural steel and precast positioning

Holding and adjusting beams, columns and precast members on site.

Warehouse racking and logistics lifts

Building racks, swapping pallets and moving heavy crates.

Shipyard and heavy fabrication bays

Heavy section handling and rigging support in fabrication shops.

Shutdown and contractor site work

Portable lifting brought in by contractors during plant outages.
